CELPE-Bras Exam Preparation
with a native expert.
Prepare for Brazil's official Portuguese proficiency exam with a native carioca who holds a Language Education Degree and is pursuing a Master's in Linguistics.
What is CELPE-Bras?
CELPE-Bras (Certificado de Proficiência em Língua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros) is Brazil's only officially recognized Portuguese proficiency certificate for non-native speakers, administered by INEP.
Two-Part Exam
The exam has two sections: the Parte Escrita (Written Part) tests reading and writing through integrated tasks, and the Parte Oral (Interação Face a Face) is a 20-minute face-to-face interview with an examiner.
Four Certification Levels
Results are graded across four levels: Intermediário, Intermediário Superior, Avançado, and Avançado Superior. Your score on both parts determines your certified level.
Offered Twice a Year
CELPE-Bras is administered twice annually — typically in April and October — at testing centers in Brazil and at select consulates and universities worldwide.
Internationally recognized — CELPE-Bras is accepted by Portuguese and Brazilian government agencies, universities across Brazil, professional licensing boards, and immigration authorities as proof of Portuguese language proficiency.
CELPE-Bras opens doors
you can't open without it.
Whether you need it for citizenship, education, or your career — this certificate is often the difference between qualifying and being turned away.
Portuguese Citizenship
Portugal requires proof of Portuguese language proficiency for naturalization. CELPE-Bras at the Intermediário level or above satisfies this requirement — a common path for descendants of Portuguese nationals and long-term residents.
University Admission in Brazil
Many Brazilian universities require CELPE-Bras for foreign students applying to undergraduate and graduate programs. Some programs require Intermediário Superior or higher depending on the field of study.
Professional Certification
Regulated professions in Brazil — including medicine, law, engineering, and nursing — require proof of Portuguese proficiency. CELPE-Bras is the standard certificate accepted by licensing boards.
Immigration & Residency
Certain visa categories and permanent residency applications in Brazil require demonstrated Portuguese proficiency. CELPE-Bras serves as official documentation for immigration authorities.
How Anne prepares you
to pass CELPE-Bras.
Exam prep is not general conversation practice. Anne's approach is structured around the specific tasks, timing, and scoring criteria of the CELPE-Bras exam.
Level Assessment
Your first session is a diagnostic. Anne evaluates your current Portuguese level across reading, writing, listening, and speaking — then maps the gap between where you are and the CELPE-Bras level you need.
Exam Format Training
Learn exactly what the exam expects. Anne walks you through real task types from both the written and oral sections, explains the scoring criteria, and teaches time management strategies for each section.
Integrated Writing Practice
CELPE-Bras writing tasks are unique — they require you to read, listen, and write in an integrated format. Anne provides tasks that match the exam format and gives detailed feedback on structure, vocabulary, and coherence.
Oral Interview Preparation
The Interação Face a Face is a structured conversation with an examiner on everyday topics. Anne simulates this experience in every session — building your ability to sustain a natural conversation, respond to follow-up questions, and express opinions clearly.
Mock Exams & Feedback
Before your exam date, Anne conducts full mock exams under timed conditions. You get candid, detailed feedback on every section — so there are no surprises on test day.
The credentials that
make the difference.
CELPE-Bras prep requires more than native fluency. It requires understanding the exam from an academic and pedagogical perspective — exactly where Anne's qualifications set her apart.
Language Education Degree

Portuguese language test
for citizenship.
If you're applying for Portuguese citizenship through naturalization, you need to prove your Portuguese language proficiency. Here's what you need to know.
The requirement
Portugal requires all naturalization applicants to demonstrate Portuguese language proficiency at A2 level (CEFR) or higher. This applies to citizenship by descent, marriage, residence, and Sephardic Jewish heritage applications.
Accepted certificates
Portugal primarily accepts CAPLE exams (CIPLE, DEPLE, DIPLE) from the University of Lisbon and certificates from the Camões Institute. CELPE-Bras may also be accepted — requirements evolve, so always verify current rules with the Portuguese immigration authority (SEF/AIMA) before choosing your exam.
Why CELPE-Bras is still valuable
Even if you pursue a CAPLE exam for Portuguese citizenship, CELPE-Bras is an internationally recognized proficiency credential accepted by Brazilian universities, employers, and immigration authorities. The exam preparation itself builds real-world Portuguese skills that transfer to any test or professional context.
Why prepare with a Brazilian tutor?
CELPE-Bras tests Brazilian Portuguese specifically. Anne's native Brazilian pronunciation, cultural knowledge, and academic understanding of the exam format give you the most direct preparation path. For CAPLE exams, the core language skills are the same — Anne adapts materials to match whichever exam you're targeting.
